About Us

Our vision for Empower Learning is to create a safe, engaging environment that empowers all students to reach their full potential. We strive to support all learners, irrespective of age, prior attainment and SEND. We believe wholeheartedly that all children have the right to receive a high-quality education that is tailored to their needs and allows them to access the future they desire.

Meet the Founders

Rosie

Hi! My name is Rosie and I've been working with children and young people for almost 10 years. I am a fully qualified teacher with experience of teaching all subjects from EYFS-KS3, and maths up to KS4.

I decided to become a tutor after working as a classroom teacher, and noticing the inequalities often faced by SEND and neurodivergent students. As a tutor, it is my aim to ensure that all students reach their full potential, whether this be through academic or pastoral support. I have extensive experience working with students with a range of special educational needs, and work closely with students and families to ensure a bespoke and holistic approach to teaching.

Joanie

Hi, I'm Joanie. I qualified as a teacher in 2018, but have worked in schools and with young people, since I was in sixth form. For the last four years I have been working as a classroom teacher, but have now decided to pursue tutoring full time.

I am passionate about maths education and working to reduce the stigma and negative attitudes around maths. I have experience of teaching from KS2-KS5, and tailor my teaching to the needs of the learners.
